This is a 17 series compressor, which has more capacity that the 15 series compressor that the 1HZs and 1HDTs came with. The fitment is the same, the pulley spacing is the same. This larger compressor will require more oil and more refrigerant than is listed in the Toyota service manual for a 15 series compressor.
This is a compressor for replacing those found on the older R12 systems. The difference is that it is filled with Mineral Oil and not PAG Oil which is used with R134a. Mineral oil is NOT compatible with R134a. You can use this compressor with alternative refrigerants that are not ozone depleting and not greenhouse gases that are Alkane based such as Red-Tek 12a and Duracool 12a.
I also have Japanese made Denso 15 series compressors available that I will be putting up soon, otherwise the Korean made 15 series R134a compressors that I carry are very good quality as well and are somewhat less costly.
